The Promise Part 3 is the third and final installment in a trilogy of graphic novels set in the World of Avatar as a bridge between theAvatar: The Last Airbender and the The Legend of Korra storylines. Written by comic author Gene Yang, this third installment was released by Dark Horse Comics in collaboration with Nickelodeon on September 26, 2012 in the United States, and October 9, 2012 in Canada.

The Harmony Restoration Movement fails to bring peace, and the nations are plunged back into war. Aang has to somehow mend the rift between himself and Fire Lord Zuko during the midst of the battle, or risk being pressured into killing the apparently renegade Fire Lord.Can war be averted? The fate of Yu Dao and the Fire Nation colonies hangs in the balance.

Turning The Tides

Korra works to recover from her time spent imprisoned by Tarrlok, but when she is interrupted by Republic City coming under attack from Equalists, she is forced to take action against the evil group and their mysterious leader Amon. Meanwhile, Pema goes into labor and has a son while airships attack Republic City and Air Temple Island. As Republic City is overrun by Equalist forces, Tenzin's family escape on a Sky Bison with Lin. Team Avatar go into hiding. General Iroh, Zuko's relative and Commander of the United Forces, is seen at the end of the episode leading an enormous fleet of ships to Republic City. He pledges to aid the Avatar in taking back the city

Avatar The Last Airbender - The Promise part 1 comic

The Promise Part 1 is the first installment in the trilogy of graphic novels set in the Avatar universe as a continuation of the Avatar: The Last Airbender storyline. Written by comic author Gene Yang, this first installment was released by Dark Horse Comics in collaboration with Nickelodeon on January 25, 2012. Mainly set one year after the conclusion of the original series, The Promise Part 1 details the adventures of Avatar Aang and his friends soon after the Hundred Year War, and together with the rest of the trilogy will provide a link to the spin-off series The Legend of Korra.

The events of The Promise Part 1 begin immediately after the last episode of the original series, "Sozin's Comet, Part 4: Avatar Aang", but after a few pages move forward one year.  The graphic novel is primarily:
"A tale of a world learning the ways of peace after a century of war. It is a difficult lesson, one that will threaten to tear the friendship of Avatar Aang and Fire Lord Zuko apart, and plunge the world back into war.

Korra and the Fire Ferrets prepare for the pro-bending finals as Amon threatens the United Republic Council to cancel the tournament or else severe consequences would follow. At the Avatar and Lin Beifong's bidding, the Council disregards the threat, and Amon and his Equalists attack the Pro-bending Arena and its bending spectators.

The Relevation

Mako and Bolin look for ways to acquire the thirty thousand yuans required for the team to remain in the pro-bending tournament. Bolin accepts work from the Triple Threat Triad and disappears. Worried, Korra and Mako search for him and encounter the group of Equalist chi blockers who have kidnapped him. Korra and Mako later learn of an upcoming Equalist rally and attend the mass meeting. There, they discover many secrets about the Equalist movement and its leader Amon.

A Leaf in the Wind

Korra is living with her airbending teacher Tenzin on Air Temple Island. Frustrated with her failed attempts to master airbending, she disobeys Tenzin and turns her attention to Republic City’s famous pro-bending arena. There she befriends two brothers, Mako and Bolin, who compete in professional bending matches. Korra is immediately drawn to pro-bending’s dynamic fighting style.
